    Amana Colonies B&B

My 5 girlfriends and I (30 something moms) are starting to plan our annual Girls Weekend for fall of '07 and would like to stay at a B&B near the Amana Colonies in Iowa.  I have looked at several online and would like some recommendations.  We would all prefer to have our own bed if possible although we don't mind sharing rooms in fact would love to have a huge suite or area to ourselves as we often stay up late visiting. We also would love to be within walking distance of some of the local shops, wineries, & museums.  Any recommendations?

The Amanas are beautiful and perfect for a girlfriends' getaway.  Here's an article I wrote after an Iowa visit several years ago:

Note the sidebar on the Amana's history. I toured Rose's Place, and thought it was friendly, charming, immaculate, and reasonably priced. That was over four years ago, however, so I would also look into the other options.  Click this link, http://www.amanacolonies.com/accommodat/index.html, then click through until you get to the information on Rose's. They are not a member of BedandBreakfast.com, nor could I find a website for them directly, so if you decide to book, be sure to let them know how you learned about them!
