    Experienced/Talented Couple seeking innkeeping position

    Hello to all,

     

    I would like to offer the services of myself and my husband as a dynamic, do-it-all couple.  I’ve attached our resumes here for your perusal, but of course, it is impossible to encapsulate the scope of our hospitality experience on two or three pages, so please allow me to add some color as to our backgrounds.

     

    We currently reside in the beautiful seaside town of Santa Barbara.  My husband has lived here off and on for nearly 30 years, while I am a transplant from the snowy mountains of Northern California.  Together, we have serviced the high net worth and celebrity clientele that either live in or visit the Santa Barbara area for over a decade.

     

    I began my career in the hospitality industry at the age of thirteen, as a dishwasher!  Since then, I have worked my way through the many stations of the business, hosting, serving, bartending and finally managing.  Gracious hospitality and sincere customer service are extremely ingrained in my sense of work ethic after so many years in the industry.  I have worked in a variety of venues, including Emeril Lagasse’s NOLA Restaurant , Michel Richard’s Citronelle and the Bacara Resort and Spa, and have acquired impeccable service skills along the way.

     

    In addition, I have applied my talents to the nightclub industry, where I became proficient in planning, promoting and providing what I refer to as “The Ultimate Experience."  To me, the Ultimate Experience leaves no sensory indulgence unfulfilled.  It involves the best atmosphere and amenities, the best food and beverage, the best company, the best entertainment and the best service.

     

    I also have experience in start-ups and building businesses along with skills in graphic design and marketing, and I would love to flex these muscles on behalf of your property and its business development.  In addition, working as the Executive Assistant to the CEO of a biotech company (the former CEO of DuPont Pharmaceuticals), I have proven that I can handle the demands and facilitate the flow of the administrative tasks involved in running a business.  To top it all off, I can’t help but admit that I have fantastic people management skills.

     

    I see my role at the inn as business manager, service provider and overall representative.  My husband’s skill set complements mine in that he is a “hands-on” individual.  As a chef, he will treat your guests to the same quality of food he produced working alongside Felicien Cueff at Michel Richard’s Citronelle and as sous chef at Mondial, the largest and most highly-regarded catering company in Santa Barbara.  He is experienced in orchestrating both high-volume dining events and intimate dinners and can customize menus to suit the most discerning eater.

     

    Through a variety of other projects and interests, he has also gained skills in carpentry, landscaping, floral arrangement, set design and general maintenance, which will prove beneficial in the upkeep of the property.

     

    We are calm and relaxed people, friendly and well-liked by others.  We’re also quiet, conscientious, professional and intelligent and will run the property with a sense of ownership and pride.  Though we love Santa Barbara, we seek a change of scenery as well as a new challenge and are willing to relocate anywhere for the right circumstance.  Our dream has always been to operate a bed and breakfast or retreat; we are looking for a situation in which we can truly make innkeeping our lifestyle and prefer a small operation that can be attended to primarily by ourselves with additional staff support as needed.
