Seeking an innkeeper
for the Casa del Gavilan
Historic Inn in Cimarron, New Mexico. Situated at the edge of the Sangre de
Cristo Mountains the Casa del Gavilan is a place of uncommon tranquility
completely surrounded by Philmont Scout Ranch. Our current innkeeper of 10
years is retiring. We are seeking a self-motivated individual, or couple, to
run the inn for 9-11 months per year. This is a hands-on position requiring the
innkeeper to cook, clean, occasionally clean guest rooms, assist with laundry,
and do a little light gardening. Housekeepers do much of the room cleaning but
innkeeper will be responsible for some as well. Previous experience preferred
but not essential. Computer skills are useful but not required. Non-smoker with
no pets preferred. Applicants must have superior references, excellent people
skills, be detail oriented, and provide superior hospitality. Private suite is
provided for on-site housing. Paid utilities except for private phone. Salary
$15,000 per year plus January off.
