The Kangaroo House - Orcus Island, San Juan Islands

My fiance Cory and I had the best experience at this charming B&B in Eastsound on Orcus Island! Not only did Peter and Hellen, the wonderful hosts, provide us with last minute, late-night accommodations, but the best gourmet breakfast I have ever tasted ,( homemade sourdough pancakes with butterscotch maple syrup, fresh lemon poppyseed bread...yummm, so delish!), but the beautiful and warm room was just what the doctor ordered for rest and relaxation in is turn of the century victorian, they have a garden hottub, and are walking distance to Eastsound, a hip and fun small village with plenty to do and wonderful locals. So quiet and refreshing, just smelling the island air is worth a trip.

The Kangaroo House is affordable, ( a room goes for $110, suites a little more), and well worth it. I came back to college with a new lease on life, and feeling that I had made two new friends in Peter and Helen, the innkeepers. If you like great service, great food and a romantic, low key setting - You will not be disappointed with this B&B!

    Dorothy,

Thank you for a wonderful report and for including the inn's website.  It sounds wonderful.  Sourdough pancakes with butterscotch syrup...mmmmm!
