Roca Country Inn, located in the tiny town of Roca about 10 miles outside of Lincoln, is situated on the upper floor of what was an 19th century blacksmith's shop. An antique shop, specializing in country primitives, is also operated by the innkeepers on the main floor.
Since there is just one guest suite at Roca Country Inn, guests have total privacy in what I consider akin to one of today's popular "loft apartments." Tastefully decorated throughout the "great room," loft area, and bedroom with a variety of impressive primitive antiques, Roca Country Inn also has a full kitchen for guests who are interested in cooking during their stay. However, a delicious breakfast is delivered to the suite each morning and delicious homemade goodies are also available when guests arrive.
Even though there are many antiques, as well as a variety of interesting collectibles, displayed throughout the guest quarters, I did not feel overwhelmed by an abundance of "frou frou"--which usually distracts, rather than enhances, an inn's decor and distinctive architectural attributes. I feel the antiques and collectibles (all tastefully arranged with good color coordination) add to the charm of this unique country inn, one which I adore and would love to revisit.
The innkeepers at this inn, Phil and Linda Cochran, are individuals who know how to make their guests feel welcomed and anxious to return when it is time to leave.--Maxine
