We recently spent a couple of nights in Virginia and one of the bed and breakfasts we stayed at was the location extraordinaire Inn at Riverbend. As you can see from my photo the views are awesome and are true to the website. We stayed in the McKenzie Room on the entry level and enjoyed our deck area to the point that we took Linda’s advice and ordered dinner in when we discovered our first choice restaurant, The Bank, was closed that evening. Linda provided silverware and beverages and we enjoyed dining al fresco overlooking the New River.
Linda and Lynn Hayes opened The Inn at Riverbend five years ago. You can see from the photos on their web site why they chose this site. They then designed the house to fit the mountain top location. The area is perfect for hiking, birding, kayaking and fishing or you can relax in a hammock or Adirondack chair and read a book or enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.
There are decks on both levels of the house so the terrace rooms also have access to a deck and terrace. The entry level has a guest kitchen where you can help yourself to hot and cold beverages, fruit and homemade cookies at any time. Breakfast was wonderful and started with a fresh fruit and yogurt parfait, which we really enjoyed, followed by made to order omelets.
Comfortable rooms with lots of amenities, great breakfasts, great views and our charming hosts, Linda and Lynn, make The Inn at Riverbend a place not to be missed and one you will find hard to leave. More info at:
