I was informed by a local inn that someone tried to pull the old scam that has gone around for years. This is the one where they pretend to be an innkeeper out of the country and an emergency has come up so they need money to get back. They called this inn pretending to be my DH (using the wrong name - duh). They said they were stuck in Canada and needed money to get back for an emergency. They asked this guy to give them the Bank of America number as he had no way to get it. Then he called back and said BOA couldn't help them out and could he personally send them some money. Supposedly I was sobbing in the background. He kept saying - that's OK Carole..don't worry, he's going to help us, etc... Lucky this innkeeper manager was savy enough to know it was a scam. Just a FYI, especially for new innkeepers who may not have heard about it.
