You try on shoes before you buy them, right? Now you can try out a bed and breakfast before deciding on a stay there.

The new owners of The Inn Circa “1864" Bed & Breakfast just outside Dellroy are holding “Daily Special Sampler” visits. The sampler includes a tour of the facility, soup, sandwich, beverages and dessert for only $5.

The samplers are available Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. When spring breaks, Mondays and Tuesdays will be added.

Doug and Jane Johnston bought the one-time stagecoach stop between Canton and Steubenville in June and have added their own touches to it. They came to Carroll County looking for a place to display their antiques, and the home now will have a shop upstairs.

Also, all of the furniture are antiques, and you often will see price tags on them as they are available for purchase. The turnover in furniture will provide a changing landscape for people who return for stays.

The Garden Room, the Lake Room and the Provence Room are available for romantic getaways. The library has high-speed Internet access and a television.
