    Sandy,

Sad, yes, but I don't know may people who have the desire to run a B&B that can actually afford a million+ dollar place!  You can't make enough money at a B&B to justify the mortgage on a place like that.  When prices get back to "normal" (or what they are really worth and what is affordable)....  Perhaps the auction price will reflect that, and 7 Sisters will be saved!

What a shame! We actually bid against them to buy it way back 18 years or so ago, with the help of Dave Caples. We were still in CA but moving to FL. It is a beautful property and I thought it had done well, but these are not normal times.

Ocala, Florida (PRWEB) July 6, 2009 -- Rowell Realty & Auction Co., Inc. (http://www.rowellauctions.com) announces the Online Only Absolute Auction of the foreclosed historic Seven Sister Inn in Ocala Florida. Bidding begins Tuesday, July 7 and ends Tuesday, July 21.

Rowell Realty & Auction Co., Inc., a licensed real estate auction company, has been commissioned to sell at public online auction the bank foreclosed assets of the historic Seven Sister Inn Bed and Breakfast in Ocala, Florida. The auction will consist of two historic Victorian homes and the contents of each. The online-only auction event of these properties begins Tuesday, July 7 and ends on Tuesday, July 21 with all bidding being conducted at online at RowellAuctions.com (http://www.rowellauctions.com/index.php?subp=1&sct=&pg=ap&pid=11902&ap_sub=det&det=1). The public will have two opportunities to preview the property during open houses scheduled on July 11th and July 18th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The absolute auction is being conducted on behalf of First Coast Community Bank, which foreclosed the property on April 7th.

The Seven Sisters Inn property consists of two Victorian homes, the first being the Rheinauer house, built in 1890, which is located at 828 SE Fort King Street, Ocala and the second being the Queen Anne styled Scott house, built in 1888, which is located at 820 SE Fort King Street, Ocala. The Scott house features eight rooms themed and dedicated to the previous owners, while the Rheinauer house features an additional five bedrooms dedicated to such exotic themes as Argentina, India, China, France, and Egypt. A full commercial grade kitchen and fully furnished dining room are also located within the Rheinaur house.

The Seven Sisters Inn is widely renowned for being haunted, and was featured on Sci-Fi Channel's Ghost Hunters. Throughout the history of the Seven Sisters Inn, many visitors have reported unexplained paranormal phenomena, but this has not affected the popularity of the inn, as it was ranked one of the top ten inns in Florida in 2008.

The online auction will allow bidders to bid on each house individually as well as all the furnishings and equipment separately. According to Mark Manley, Auction Coordinator for Rowell Auctions (http://www.rowellauctions.com/index.php?), "this method of sale allows for prospective buyers that may have alternate uses for the property to buy one or both properties without having to buy the furnishings." Manley also stated that "if a buyer is interested in the properties to operate as a Bed and Breakfast they will have the opportunity to buy the furnishings as well. According to Manley, "preliminary interest in the auction has been outstanding with Rowell staff fielding calls daily from prospective buyers." Manley went on to state that "the key aspect of this auction is that it is an Absolute Auction, which means there is no minimum bids and no reserves, whatever the high bid price is will be the selling price."
